Troop 85 is
the only Westside high-adventure Boy Scout troop focused on backpacking, while
developing practical, leadership, and life skills.
In the last few years, we’ve rock-climbed at Joshua Tree
National Park, climbed to the top of Mt. Whitney -- highest peak in the 48
states!-- snow camped and slept in an igloo we built, backpacked to Manter Meadow (18 miles) and Manzana
Creek (13 miles), built and blasted a rocket to 8500 ft, car-camped at Death
Valley, and backpacked across Sequoia, Yosemite and Mineral King. We welcome
all family members (hale and hearty enough) to join in the fun. We are a
close-knit group of youth and parents working together to reach our common
goals of:
High Adventure & Peak Achievement
